HBCU Buzz Artist Spotlight: Article from North Carolina A&T State University

Article, derived from “genuine article”, is exactly that. Life and music have been a parallel for him since his early beginnings at the age of 13. Inspired by his two older brothers, Article became intrigued with beats and rhymes. More importantly, it was the outlet of self expression that hip hop provided that attracted him to the game. It was love at first sight.

Since then, Article has developed a style that is very universal, versatile, full of lyricism, witty wordplay, and just flat out good music. Some of Article’s musical influences include Nas, Outkast, Kanye West,Eminem, T.I., and Jay-Z.

Article’s motivation is success at whatever he sets to achieve. A major part of that is bringing everyday real life concepts to a beat in a way unseen from a region undiscovered. North Carolina has indeed given birth to different species of MCs. The music speaks for itself. ”Born with it in my heart and living to leave my mark, and Be Extraordinary!”
