Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Tahajah Samuels is a junior Mass Media Arts major with a concentration in Public Relations Management at Clark Atlanta University. Her overall career goal is to be one of the leading professionals who help change the image of all minorities shown in the media. Understanding that we live in a media-driven society, many perceptions are made based off of what we are shown; perception influences belief and ultimately behavior. Tahajah hopes to take this vision to a company that embodies the same passion as she does. Some of her many interests include: media, “the arts”, entertainment, writing, travel, dining and social justice.
Tahajah has been fortunate enough to intern at a variety of companies within the media industry. She has served as a Promotions/Marketing intern at 107.5 WBLS FM, a Production Intern at BET Networks and a Consumer Intern at 5W Public Relations. Aside from internships, Tahajah is a member of the Clark Atlanta University Honors Program, the Public Relations Student Society of America, the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists, a Dean’s Scholarship recipient, co-founder of the Atlanta University Students for Obama, and the Financial Secretary of the Clark Atlanta chapter of the NAACP. Tahajah conducts a variety of community service projects since freshman year and served on the 2011 Homecoming Decorations Committee. She has written a contributing article for The Panther Newspaper, Clark Atlanta’s school newspaper and in high school served as Assistant Editor for the newspaper and as yearbook’s Student Life Editor for two consecutive years.
Tahajah would love to make her personal mark on the world, and she will! With her passion, diligence and optimism, the opportunities and blessings are endless for the future ‘Woman in Public Relations’ who has hopes of shifting the entire media industry. She lives by the motto: “How are you going to tell me that the sky’s the limit, when there are footprints on the moon?” Tahajah Samuels is a Staff Writer for HBCU Buzz Inc.
