Columbia, SC (WLTX) – Benedict College students can expect to see a lot of construction on campus next school year.

College officials confirmed that they will be building the first all suite-style housing for both male and female sophomorestudents.

The horseshoe housing unit will be located on the right side of the football stadium where the UniverSoul Circus is currently situated.

The decision to build more housing comes from an increase in Benedict’s enrollment growth and the desire to keep students on college grounds.

Kymm Hunter, Assistant Vice President of Communications and Marketing, says, “We wanted to accomodate our students and keep them closer to campus.”

The new building is expected to be finished by the fall of 2013.
