Grambling State University, a historically black college or university (HBCU) located in Grambling, Louisiana, is currently conducting a search to find just the university’s 10th president since its founding over 113 years ago.

Interim President Cynthia Warrick announced yesterday that she would not be applying for the position of GSU president, according to a release.

GSU Interim President Cynthia Warrick:

“While I am confident that my work during this important transition has made a positive impact at Grambling; I have decided that I will honor my agreement with the Registry not to apply for the permanent position,” Warrick said. “I have embraced this opportunity as an honor and as long as I am here at Grambling, I will continue to use my time and energy to work on the initiatives I have started to make the university its best. I truly believe in Grambling, its students, faculty, and staff; so I hope everyone will continue to work with me to ensure its future growth and success.”
