North Carolina Central’s Winning Streak Continues

North Carolina Central has dominated the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference over the years. So dominant in fact that even with their backs against the wall, the game is never truly in doubt. In the 29th consecutive victory over MEAC opponents Bethune-Cookman was the eventual victim for the NCCU Eagles, who extend their impressive win-streak another game.

In the game against their MEAC rivals, NCCU (19-6, 11-0 MEAC) took control early on, waltzing out to a 12 point lead going into the half. This lead was largely built behind the team shooting almost 60% from the field and slight over 37% from range.

The Wildcats would not go down without an attempt to defend their home court. B-CU (8-17, 4-6 MEAC) came out swinging in the second half and was able to take a 42-41 lead midway through the second half.

The lead would only last 16 second as the Eagles answered with a three shortly thereafter that would keep them on top. From that point on the closest the game would be was a 48-47 lead for NCCU.

NCCU was able to continue their high shooting percentages going 83% from the free throw line throughout the second half of the game, hovering at 50% from the field. These efforts, combined with a stingy defense that held the Wildcats to under 32% from the field the entire game, would prove to be too much for B-CU.

Capitalizing on a 12-1 run to end the game with a score of 65 the Eagles look for their 30th victory against a slumping FAMU (1-23, 1-10 MEAC) team coming off of their first victory in their next match-up.
