WHITE WILL REPRESENT VSU IN 2011 CACTUS BOWL ALL STAR GAME

Virginia State University’s Ian White was selected to participate in the 2011 Cactus Bowl on January 7 at Javelin Stadium in Kingsville, TX.

Senior corner, Ian White was named First Team All-CIAA as a defensive back leading his team with 5 interceptions for 118 yards. VSU ranked 2nd in the CIAA in scoring defense and interceptions as White returned an interception for a 70 yard TD score. White made 32 solo tackles and 19 assisted tackles from his defensive back position finishing third on the team with 51 total tackles. White led his defensive secondary group breaking up 9 passes and deflecting 14 more during the 2010 season.

White was also selected to the 2010 Virginia College Division Football All-State first team. He will be featured at the HBCU All Star Game in Atlanta, GA and Cactus Bowl in Kingsville, TX.

The game kicks off on Friday night at 7 p.m. from Javelina Stadium.
