Late Sunday night, CFPA announced their national FCS award winners and the Wildcats were well represented for their efforts against PVAMU. Three of the 15 MEAC players to receive awards came from B-CU this week, headlined by Reggie Sandilands, who won CFPA’s FCS National Linebacker of the Week award after posting three tackles and two fumble recoveries (one for a touchdown) in the win over the Panthers.
Receiving honorable mention in this week’s performer awards were quarterback Jamarr Robinson, who led the Wildcats with five total TDs on 251 yards passing and 30 yards rushing, and Al-Ghaffar Lane, who led the Wildcats in tackles (with seven), along with a sack, two TFL and a forced fumble that set up Sandilands for the return.
With other national organizations and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference office posting honors later in the week, the Wildcats are looking to collect a big haul as they prepare for the big matchup with fellow 2010 MEAC Co-Champion South Carolina State this Saturday at Municipal Stadium.
