Technology has made it possible to learn about anything, anytime, anywhere. Between internet searches and social media, there are unlimited opportunities to stay up to date. What do you use videos for the most? Is it watching the band routines, step shows, beauty routines, or homework hacks? Especially in this social climate, have you used online videos to stay in touch with racial injustice initiatives and affected communities?

The HBCU Buzz Team has a unique casting opportunity for those of you who keep your eyes glued to the screen! If you’ve found yourself impacted by the videos you’ve watched, whether good or bad, we want to hear about it! We’re looking for people whose lives have been changed by online videos. Whether you’ve learned how to cook, how to pass a class, or just watch funny videos during your self-care routine, tell us all about it.  This is a unique and of course paid opportunity!

Accepted applicants will be compensated $5,000 for their time. Additionally, we may propose to purchase the rights to select casting submission videos at the rate of $750 video. If you have an attention-grabbing submission video, we may propose to license the video even if you aren’t selected. So really it’s a win-win.

There aren’t many restrictions on who is eligible for this casting call! If you usually watch videos with other people in your circle, then they can be a part of this too! In fact, we encourage roommates, family members, spouses, to apply as well. Ultimately we’re just looking for the right personalities to be a part of this project and keep viewers engaged.

The rules are pretty simple! Tell us about yourself, but avoid any trademarked or copyrighted materials being visible in your submission tapes. That means no visible big logos, artwork, background music, etc. If you aren’t sure, your best bet is to leave it out!

All applicants must be based in the United States, and aged 18 years or older. All information submitted will be kept confidential. Any information you provide will automatically grant us permission to review and store the data. However if chosen you will be compensated. Due to the sheer volume of applications, only those selected will be contacted.

This is an opportunity you won’t want to miss, so make a submission before the deadline. You have until on Friday September 18, 2020 before the window closes…
