FAMU Grad Tapped To Take Over ‘Being Mary Jane’

The FAMU community stay winning. That is to say, an alum of the black college will be heading over to the BET network to join the leadership team for Being Mary JaneThe Huffington Post reported.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Will Parker (Florida A&M University class of ’96) and writer Erica Shelton Kodish are joining the Being Mary Jane team for the upcoming fourth season after creators and executive producers Mara Brock Akil and Salim surprisingly decided to leave for a new deal at Warner Bros. TV.

“It’s an amazing time to be involved in producing great television, and this is the rare opportunity to work with Gab, who I think is one of the best actresses doing it today, whom I also consider family,” said Packer. “BET is a tremendous partner, and Erica has the perfect skill set to handle a show of this magnitude.”
