NEW YORK, — Black Women Talk Tech proudly announces ‘Ideas on Tap: A Pitch Practice Social,’ a 4-city event series that kicks off 2024 and celebrates Black History Month! In collaboration with Diageo, this groundbreaking tour will visit Washington DC with a special HBCU Edition on February 1st.

This pitch social offers a platform for women innovators to showcase their ideas in Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Green Tech, Smart Cities, and Sustainability.

At ‘Ideas on Tap,’ creativity takes center stage in an environment designed for idea sharing and refinement. This isn’t a pitch competition; it’s a safe space to let your ideas brew and receive constructive feedback – no startup needed.

The Washington D.C. Pitch Practice will also celebrate HBCUs! All HBCU Students & Alumni are invited to attend, pitch and network with professionals and leaders in the technology ecosystem. Supporting these communities is important to both Black Women Talk Tech (who runs a Black Students Talk Tech HBCU program) & Diageo.

“We are proud of our partnership with institutions like Howard University, Grambling State University and Southern University that share our commitment in shaping a more equitable society. To date, Diageo has contributed over $11 million to create permanent endowments at 29 HBCUs and MSIs (Minority Serving Institutions) across the U.S. as we look to provide future diverse leaders with employable skills and champion them to success.” – Dr. Danielle Robinson, Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships, Diageo North America.
