No. 5 Virginia State University Concert Choir
Virginia State University Concert Choir rounded out the top five with 5.81% of the vote. The group finished just 13 votes behind Tuskegee, making the race for fourth and fifth one of the closest in the poll.
Virginia State’s choir has continued to grow its visibility through meaningful performances. In January 2026, the university announced that the VSU Concert Choir would perform at the historic inauguration of Virginia’s first female governor. Dr. Craig Robertson, VSU’s Director of Choral Activities, Assistant Professor of Music, and conductor of the Concert Choir, called the invitation an affirmation of the students’ talent and hard work.
That moment reflects the choir’s role as a cultural ambassador for Virginia State. The ensemble represents the university with a polished sound and a strong sense of purpose. Its top-five finish shows that VSU supporters showed up in a big way and helped secure the choir’s place among the fan favorites.
