Led by team captain Lakeisha Dagner, Virginia State University’s submission reimagines the A Different World experience through the perspective of a returning student, connecting cherished campus memories with the experiences of a new generation.

The concept captures the feeling of being part of VSU: the energy, familiar places, and student connections that make campus life memorable. For Dagner, that sense of belonging echoes what Hillman represented in the original series.

From the Appomattox River and VSU Quad to Foster Hall and Rogers Stadium, the submission draws on campus landmarks alongside student organizations, performing arts, and athletics. It celebrates students creating their own memories while carrying Trojan traditions forward.
