$360,000 in grants has been awarded to nine historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) for campus renovation in the Retool Your School competition.

Since the beginning of the program, more than $2.2million has been awarded. The 2018 winners of the are: Jackson State University, Southern University and A&M College, Fayetteville State University, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Tuskegee University, Claflin University, Lane College, Livingstone College and Talladega College.

To congratulate all of the schools, was the cast of ‘A Different World,’ Howard University alumnus and actor Laz Alonso, president and CEO, QEM (Quality Education for Minorities) Network Dr. Ivory Toldson, Commissioner, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Gregory Moore, Esq., Managing Partner at The Home Depot Michael Tabb and Mellisa Brown, the Manager of Multiculteral Marketing for The Home Depot.
